2011 Betfair Stakes Form Guide

Love Conquers All (1)

Consistently good and comes in off a win in The Shorts and a third in the Premiere Stakes. Probably has an edge in class but has a habit of only running second when the pressure is on. Beadman to ride.

Pinwheel (12)

Was travelling along so nicely but struggled in the Rupert Clarke stakes. It begs the question is he over the hill this prep, if he’s not he can bounce back. Kerrin McEvoy to ride.

Albert The Fat (7)

Second in the shorts and fourth in the Premiere Stakes so he’s stalking the toppy at every turn. If LCA is a chance to win I guess it means he is as well . Nash Rawiller to ride.

Danzylum (2)

Did nothing last start and not a lot before that either. Good horse at his best but at eight his best is behind him. Currie to ride.

Doubtful Jack (10)

Won at Mornington last start but this is a big step up in grade. That being said he also drops 3.5kg in the process so maybe it’s not impossible. Nolen to ride.

Launay (8)

First up since the autumn where he ran well including a last start third in the Easter Cup. This is a tougher grade than the handicaps but he could be a tougher horse too. Zahra to ride.

Budriguez (13)

Second first up at Morphettville and comes here with a decent second up record. Needs to find a couple of lengths but based on his form earlier in the year he might be able to. D Oliver to ride.

Rothera (14)

One from one at the track but 9th in the Gilgai Stakes. Best horse in the race should the skies open but on a dry deck he looks out gunned.  C Newitt to ride.

Amaethon (11)

Won the Testa Rossa Stakes first up and gives himself every chance in this one. Loves the track and can run out the 1400m, not a lot working against him. C Symons to ride.

Hurtle Myrtle (4)

Second in the Premiere Stakes puts her in great shape for this and given she won the Dane Ripper over 1400m earlier in the year she’s every chance. Needs the sting out of the ground though. Schofield to ride.

Utah Saints (9)

Really good front runner but the 1400m is right on the edge. He’ll lead coming off the bend and won’t be easy to run down. Third last start only a week ago. J Winks to ride.

Phelan Ready (6)

Continues to show a mountain of promise on the comeback trail with a fast finishing third last start in the Testa Rossa Stakes. Record says the distance is a worry but I disagree, look for him late. B Rawiller to ride.

Speediness (3)

Sixth in the Testa Rossa Stakes first up and will appreciate the extra ground. Great horse in the lower grades, needs to show he can match it in this class. C Williams to ride.

Varenna Miss (5)

Great little mare known from her success in Brisbane, started well when fifth first up in the Gilgai Stakes. She’ll improve from that and with two wins and a second from four starts at Caulfield she’s every hope.

Remember that if you want the best odds on the 2011 Betfair Stakes Luxbet is your only option whether it be win, place, exotics or multi’s this weekend.
